Everyone knows the popularity of football, basketball, and baseball. These are the big 3 of American sports. There are countless others however those 3 are easily the most well known pretty much worldwide. However there are other branches of sports that are deemed "unconventional".
For example:
Among this list is Paintball, usually team based, the sport of paintball originates where one team must
capture a flag and bring it to the opponents base. Although that may seem backwards, this flip of the
usual capture the flag creates players to become more offensive and makes for high speed and high
intensity action. This is my hobby. A bunch of guys wearing hardly much of padding, shooting each other
with paintballs that fly at you around 280 to 300 feet per second. It is the definition of
fun for myself. A passion, a desire to play, and a drive to be better than yesterday is the mindset
of every fan of the sport.
Paintball was introduced to me during junior high. A friend of mine at the time had discovered
the competitive side of the sport called "Speed Ball". This is similar to the first gamemode
of paintball. Your team must simply eliminate and hit the buzzer on the opposing team side.
As easy as it sounds, in play, it is either the easiest quick game or longest meat grinder of a match.
Paintball, especically on the competitive scale my not be very popular to the average day to day person who may at most understand what its all about. However, competitive speed ball has grown to such a scale that there are even world cups held every year. over thousands come to compete in thier division level alongside their teams. Naturally, people are always exciteed to see the paintball celebrites and their teams compete to see who'll be the next years titan of a pro team.
